Fashion Week LA Grows Up
The twice annual Fashion Week in Los Angeles looks to have finally hit its pace with a full slate of designer shows by Art Hearts and Style Fashion Week. This season, we’re looking at Fall/Winter 2016 and it’s actually 1 week. Traditionally Fashion Week in LA has been two weeks but with Easter coming at the end of March, it’s consolidated to 1 week.
Sue Wong, Andre Soriano, Michael Costello and Furne One are missing from this round of Fashion Week in Los Angeles. Instead are days of designers with only a few recognizable names such as Hale Bob, Moods of Norway, Quynh of Paris, Walter Mendez and Nancy Vuu. Besides designers, missing too are some of the producers of previous seasons from Metropolitan Fashion Week, Project Ethos and Concept LA.
The main events during Fashion Week in Los Angeles are:
FWLA – Fashion Week Los Angeles by Michael Gio Ferrigno, Christina Iannuzzi and Edd Uzzell opens up Fashion Week at Union Station for two days on March 13 and 14 with panels and runway shows grouped into categories such as women’s wear and men’s wear.
Art Hearts Fashion Week by Sarah Whitaker and Erin of ParkerWhitaker Productions is at the Taglyn Cultural Center for three days on March 14 through 17th where they’ve been for several seasons plus an opening reception at the W Hollywood on March 13th. Style Fashion Week by Veronica Kerzner is at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood instead of The Reef in downtown Los Angeles where it’s been for several seasons. It runs from March 15th through 20th with parties, and opening reception, three days of runway shows and a closing night party.
